It’s Okay not to be Okay

Backpack for Life

We are “It’s Okay not to be Okay,” a charity driven by love and a fierce commitment to mental health, grief, and suicide prevention, we run community events, provide comfort through gift packs for those bereaved by suicide, and tirelessly raise awareness through social media and mental health workshops.We passionately believe in equipping our community with the tools to navigate life’s toughest challenges. With the Community Kickstart Grant, we will bring our vital “Backpack for Life” project to the Mornington Peninsula, funding 17 early intervention workshops for approximately 535 primary school students in grades 3, 4, 5, and 6. These workshops will build crucial mental health literacy, resilience, and provide students with a powerful toolkit to confidently face difficult times.

Get Busy Living

As Projex J Limited, our profound mission is to ensure no one grieves alone, creating safe spaces for connection, understanding, and healing. We offer free, community-driven grief support through one-on-one coaching, monthly groups for adults and bereaved parents, and quarterly gatherings with expert specialists. Having supported nearly 300 individuals since our inception, we are now passionately focused on an urgent need: providing grief support for young people on the Mornington Peninsula, especially those who have lost a sibling to suicide or accident. With the Community Kickstart Grant, we will expand our reach and partner with Jimmys Youth Wellbeing Sanctuary to provide safe havens, engage appropriate specialists, and acquire activity equipment for therapeutic engagement, guiding up to 60 children toward a positive ongoing future and encouraging them to “Get Busy Living.”

WorkLink: Internships Program

MLV is passionately committed to supporting people with disabilities on the Frankston Mornington Peninsula to live meaningful lives, believing everyone deserves to live life to the fullest. We confidently deliver innovative services, providing pathways to employment, skills building, and social community participation, teaching the skills people with disabilities want and need to thrive. With the Community Kickstart Grant, we will launch our WorkLink: Internships Program, supporting 25 young people aged 15-18 transitioning from school, providing a two-year pathway to work in the open market. This program sources voluntary work placements and builds capacity in local industries to support people with disabilities, all while teaching vital employment skills, improving mental health, self-esteem, and a sense of belonging. This is more than just a program; it’s about building healthy, connected communities and fostering better social and economic outcomes for all
